OUR MISSION
Our mission is to foster a nurturing environment where young minds grow, explore, and flourish, embracing the principles of faith, love, and educational excellence. Together, we build a foundation for a lifetime of learning, anchored in the values that make each child a cherished individual.
We aim to create a collaborative community where educators, families, and children work hand in hand, cultivating an atmosphere of trust, respect, and mutual growth. Our holistic approach integrates Christian values seamlessly into the learning experience, instilling virtues such as kindness, empathy, and resilience. Through this, we envision shaping resilient, compassionate individuals who not only excel academically but also embody the timeless values of love, integrity, and service.
Welcome to our learning center!
We focus on preparing the “whole child” to ensure that their educational foundation is solid.

This is our third year with CLC and we absolutely LOVE it. They are passionate and professional about the work they do and are driven to provide a solid educational foundation for every child in their class. I love knowing that my children are being cared for and taught by teachers that love them like their own and have the talent to help each child reach their full potential.

I have known Lisa for many years and can honestly say she has an incredible gift for teaching. Lisa and Rachael's passion for excellence in education and deep love for nurturing and investing in young hearts and minds make Coastal Learning Center LLC a place I would highly recommend anyone to enroll their children in. Well done ladies. I can't wait to watch you continue to expand and grow!

Every trimester, a report card is sent home to parents and put in the students’ file to help keep everyone “in the know” of how each student is progressing. Assessments are given prior to reports being generated and are able to show the growth of each student. Our report cards have been patterned after Kindergarten level report cards from area county schools. They are also inclined to change as those change so we are able to make sure our students are prepared as best as possible for their next grade level.

Coastal Learning Center is focused on each child and their growth in responsibilities, becoming independent, using their resources and developing in all areas. We balance developmental play with academic growth using a variety of resources and allotting time for artistic creativity. The children have freedom within boundaries and are nurtured to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, and use their communication skills.

It consists of whole group instruction, small group instruction, interactive play, art, and more. The students come in and unpack independently and start their morning off with a task or manipulative time. We transition into “Morning Meeting” and cover a plethora of concepts including (but not limited to): counting words, letters of the week, punctuation marks, spacing, sight words, the date, handwriting, tally marks, ten frames, colors, calendar concepts & more. We also use songs & movement to help us review concepts. We use whole group and small group instruction after a quick snack time and end our day cleaning up and reviewing our day.
-
That is optional. “Lunch Bunch” is an additional 30 minutes each day you can add-on to your students’ day for an extra monthly fee.
-
Students who attend our Transitional Kindergarten and move to a public school in Pender County the following year will be placed in their age-appropriate grade level (per Pender County Schools).
-
Currently, we do not have more than 10 students per grade level. This is to ensure the highest quality of instruction and being able to meet the needs of students academically on a daily & weekly basis.
